Google Home was the first device that Google sold to work as a smart home speaker. Since then, the company has launched other smart speaker-type products. For example, there’s a version with a screen called Google Home Hub as well as a rectangular speaker with improved audio quality called Google Home Max. There’s also a tiny version called Google Home Mini that offers a low-cost point of entry for people who are new to smart home devices. For Ambient IQ to work the mic has to be enabled, which may not be everyone’s cup of tea. If you really want to limit Google’s access to your voice, the Nest Audio has a physical mute button. This limits your Nest Audio’s capacity to use Google Assistant, however, which may defeat the point of the product for some.
